B2B Marshal resolves one effective policy for the purchasing company and location, then publishes compact decision inputs for Shopify Functions.
Company and location precedence
- Company policy is the default for its locations.
- A supported location override replaces the complete related policy bundle rather than mixing partial values unpredictably.
- A company credit hold blocks every location; a location hold adds a narrower block for that location.
- Untracked, archived, missing, or projection-less accounts fail open for B2B Marshal checkout controls.
Quantity restrictions
Static quantity restrictions resolve from the store default to the company and then the purchasing location. A location inherits the company's effective rule until Override company quantity restrictions is enabled. Its override is one atomic bundle containing the minimum, maximum, increment, and product-or-variant scope; the location can also explicitly select Off to suppress inherited restrictions. B2B Marshal does not combine individual quantity fields from different scopes.
Credit thresholds
A credit limit can have two ordered utilization thresholds. Each threshold has its own action. When both are crossed, the stricter applicable action and any configured payment-method sets are resolved according to the saved policy. Dashboard-only monitoring records the condition without changing checkout.
Validation and payment actions
Checkout blocking occurs when the buyer submits the order. Hiding payment methods changes the matching checkout labels but does not erase payment terms or payment instruments. Require payment now temporarily removes deferred terms for the eligible checkout; it does not rewrite the location's stored payment terms. Shipping and tiered discounts
Shipping restrictions, free shipping, and tiered discounts resolve at company or location scope. The discount policy is one atomic bundle: a location either inherits the complete company bundle or overrides both discount ladders and the markdown choice together.
- The order ladder qualifies on eligible order subtotal and applies its highest qualifying percentage or fixed benefit.
- The item ladder qualifies independently by product or variant quantity. Product scope combines all variants of a product; Variant scope evaluates each variant separately. A fixed item benefit applies to every item in the qualifying group.
- Each enabled ladder contains 1–10 tiers with strictly increasing minimums and nondecreasing benefits. The two ladders are independent and can both apply in one checkout.
- Exclude markdown items removes a line from tier qualification and from both discounts when its compare-at unit price is higher than its current unit price.
Store-wide discount-stacking preferences control whether B2B Marshal's combined order/item discount can stack with shipping, product, and order discounts and whether its free-shipping discount can stack with product and order discounts. Shopify remains authoritative for final compatibility and permits only one shipping discount per order.
Currency and exposure
Balances, utilization, aging, and tracked activity stay partitioned by currency. Draft reviews remain outside booked outstanding exposure until converted into an order. Refunds and partial payments update reconciled order state; B2B Marshal does not invent an FX conversion or a separate accounting ledger.
Other apps and native configuration
Native Shopify settings, compare-at prices, and other apps can affect the same checkout. Review the eligible subtotal, product/variant grouping, highest crossed tier, markdown setting, B2B Marshal resource-health alerts, discount combinations, payment labels, delivery options, and other active checkout customizations when the observed result differs from the saved account policy.
