Does B2B Marshal provide credit or lending?
No. B2B Marshal is merchant-operated account decision support and checkout control. It does not lend money, underwrite buyers, score credit, provide invoices or dunning, or operate a buyer finance portal.
Does it affect normal retail customers?
B2B Marshal checkout Functions require an active tracked B2B company/location projection. A retail checkout, untracked company, inactive projection, or missing projection does not receive B2B Marshal account controls.
What financial data does the app store?
The app stores company/location identity and lifecycle facts, order identifiers and names, amounts, currencies, payment and fulfillment status, payment-term schedule timestamps and balances, derived exposure/aging metrics, policy, audit, and synchronization state. It does not store customer contact profiles, addresses, product line items, or payment card data.
Are balances a replacement for accounting records?
No. B2B Marshal reconciles Shopify B2B order state for operational exposure and account policy. It is not a general ledger, tax system, accounts-receivable system, or source of legal or accounting advice. Verify material decisions against Shopify and your authoritative financial records.
Can locations have different policy?
Yes. Supported location policies can override inherited company policy as complete bundles. That includes static quantity restrictions and tiered discounts. A location discount override owns both the order-subtotal and product/variant-quantity ladders plus the markdown-exclusion choice; individual discount fields do not fall back to the company. Location credit limits must not exceed the company limit. A company hold affects all locations; a location hold affects only that location.
How do tiered discounts work?
An order ladder chooses the highest tier reached by eligible order subtotal. An item ladder chooses the highest tier reached by each product's combined quantity or by each variant's quantity, depending on scope. Each ladder can use percentage or fixed benefits, and both can apply in the same checkout. If Exclude markdown items is enabled, lines whose compare-at unit price is higher than their current unit price neither help qualify nor receive either discount.
What requires Shopify Plus?
Require payment now requires B2B Marshal Pro plus Shopify Plus. Send to draft review requires Pro plus Shopify Plus B2B. A Pro subscription alone does not unlock Shopify capabilities.
How does older order history work?
Full history requires Shopify approval and an installation grant for read_all_orders. Without it, B2B Marshal synchronizes accessible history, labels coverage as bounded, and avoids destructive decisions based on unseen older records.
