Settings

App-level settings and account preferences for Cart Marshal.

Settings is where you maintain app-wide defaults and the Shopify data used in rule builders. Changing a setting does not publish or unpublish a rule.

Defaults

  • Default discount method: automatic or code.
  • Default discount combinations: whether new discount rules combine with product, order, and shipping discounts.
  • Free shipping defaults: new shipping discount rules start with the least expensive shipping option unless you choose all or specific options.

Payment method list

Add the payment method labels your store shows at checkout. Cart Marshal uses this list in Payment Hide, Reorder, and Rename rules so you can select the exact labels you want to manage.

When you add or rename a payment method in Shopify, update its checkout label in Settings and review the rules that use it.

Field visibility

Field visibility settings control which eligibility and benefit-targeting fields appear in the rule builder. Hiding a field keeps the form simpler; it does not remove data from already-saved rules.

PO Box detection

PO Box keywords are used by Address Restrictions and payment or delivery rules that check address text at checkout. Include common variants such as "PO Box", "P.O. Box", and "Post Office Box".

Store info and cache

Cart Marshal refreshes picker data such as markets, shipping methods, product tags, customer tags, customer segments, and store information periodically so rule forms load quickly. If a recent Shopify change is not available in a builder, use Resync store info to bring it in sooner. Resync refreshes builder data; checkout scan reviews logic that can affect checkout.

Governance

Pro includes Settings change history. Growth and Pro include the rule audit trail, but Settings history is a Pro governance feature.
