Payment rules are available on Core and up. Use them to show the right payment choices, in the right order, with labels that fit your checkout.
Common examples
- Hide Cash on Delivery above an order-value threshold.
- Rename a payment method for regional clarity.
- Move preferred payment methods higher for selected markets.
- Hide financing methods for products that are not eligible.
Payment method names
Add the exact payment labels shown by your store in Settings before building a Payment Hide, Reorder, or Rename rule. This gives you a dependable list that matches your checkout wording.
Payment Reorder can position a partial list of methods. Methods in the rule move into your chosen order; unlisted methods keep Shopify's remaining order. Add a method to your Settings list before selecting it in a rule.
Rename limits
Payment Rename does not change logo-style methods such as Shop Pay, Amazon Pay, Google Pay, Apple Pay, or Gift Card. For supported methods, use the exact title shown at checkout.

Open checkout with the relevant payment methods enabled, then confirm the payment step matches the rule summary.
