Last updated: July 17, 2026. These Terms of Service are app-specific to Cart Marshal by HansonCore, LLC DBA Five Acre Code ("Five Acre Code," "we," "us," or "our").
By installing, accessing, or using Cart Marshal, the Shopify merchant or other business entity using the app ("Merchant," "you," or "your") agrees to these terms. If you use the app on behalf of a company, you represent that you are authorized to bind that company.
App purpose
Cart Marshal helps merchants configure Shopify checkout behavior, including discount, payment, delivery, validation, checkout scan, rule lifecycle, and migration guidance workflows. The app does not operate a separate checkout, does not process payment card data, and does not guarantee that a rule will produce a particular legal, tax, accounting, revenue, conversion, margin, fraud-prevention, fulfillment, shipping, or compliance result.
Merchant responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- Selecting, configuring, reviewing, approving, publishing, monitoring, and testing your rules.
- Verifying discount amounts, payment behavior, delivery behavior, validation messages, cart transform behavior, customer eligibility, and any legal or operational effects before relying on a rule in a live store.
- Confirming that your use of Cart Marshal complies with your laws, tax requirements, pricing obligations, advertising obligations, consumer protection obligations, shipping commitments, marketplace rules, Shopify terms, and any internal approval process.
- Maintaining accurate Shopify settings, product data, collections, tags, shipping methods, payment method names, markets, customer data, and third-party app configurations.
- Keeping backups or records of business-critical rule requirements outside the app.
You acknowledge that checkout execution depends on Shopify, Shopify Functions, Shopify platform limits, store configuration, merchant-entered settings, third-party apps, and checkout runtime data. You assume all risk for published checkout behavior and for any business decision made using the app.
Shopify billing
Cart Marshal uses Shopify managed pricing. Shopify handles plan selection, trials, upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, recurring billing, taxes, and merchant invoice presentation through Shopify billing systems. Plan access in Cart Marshal depends on the active Shopify subscription information available to the app.
If a billing change is delayed, unavailable, rejected, reversed, disputed, or incorrectly reflected by Shopify, your access may remain limited until the subscription state is available to the app. Published rules that exceed the current plan or feature limits may be unpublished, blocked from republishing, or marked unavailable.
Refund requests are handled under the Cart Marshal Refund Policy and applicable Shopify billing rules.
Services
Standard app support covers questions about using Cart Marshal as documented. Implementation, migration, custom rule design, custom Functions, theme work, Shopify administration, data cleanup, custom engineering, and consulting services are separate from app support unless covered by a signed written services agreement.
Any advice, examples, migration guidance, Scripts analyzer output, documentation, support response, or recommended configuration is informational only. You remain responsible for reviewing, testing, approving, and monitoring the resulting rule.
Acceptable use
You may not use Cart Marshal to:
- Violate applicable law, Shopify terms, third-party rights, or consumer protection obligations.
- Interfere with Shopify, Five Acre Code systems, or another merchant.
- Attempt unauthorized access, security testing without permission, scraping, reverse engineering, credential harvesting, abuse, or rate-limit circumvention.
- Publish rules you know are deceptive, unlawful, harmful, or inconsistent with your public store terms.
We may suspend or limit access if we reasonably believe the app is being misused, presents a security risk, threatens service integrity, violates these terms, or may expose Five Acre Code, Shopify, merchants, or customers to harm.
Availability and changes
Cart Marshal is provided using third-party infrastructure and Shopify platform APIs. The app may be interrupted, delayed, degraded, unavailable, changed, or discontinued because of maintenance, incidents, provider outages, Shopify changes, platform limits, app review requirements, security needs, billing state, or other operational reasons.
We may add, change, restrict, repackage, or remove features, plans, limits, documentation, and policies. We may update these terms by publishing a revised version. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised terms.
Third-party platforms
Shopify, Render, Turso, GitHub, Sentry, Zoho Mail, Cloudflare, and other providers are independent third parties. We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, billing systems, security events, terms, policies, platform behavior, app review decisions, API changes, Function behavior, or data handling outside our control.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Cart Marshal and all related documentation, support, examples, diagnostics, scan results, Scripts analyzer output, and services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.
We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, quiet enjoyment, accuracy, uninterrupted operation, error-free operation, security, compatibility, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that the app will prevent lost revenue, incorrect discounts, undercharging, overcharging, free-shipping errors, payment-method errors, delivery-method errors, validation errors, cart transform errors, customer complaints, chargebacks, tax errors, shipping losses, inventory issues, compliance issues, downtime, review rejection, or any other financial or business impact.

The limitations above apply to all theories of liability, including contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, warranty, statute, equity, and any other legal theory.

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Five Acre Code, its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, and service providers from and against any claims, demands, damages, liabilities, losses, penalties, fines, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from or related to:
- Your store, products, customers, policies, pricing, discounts, shipping, payments, tax treatment, legal obligations, or business operations.

- Your misuse of the app or violation of these terms.
- Your violation of law, Shopify terms, third-party rights, customer rights, or merchant obligations.
- Data, instructions, settings, content, or materials you provide to the app or to support.

You are responsible for determining whether those practices meet your requirements before installing or continuing to use the app.
