Your Cart Marshal plan determines which templates you can use and how many rules you can publish. Shopify also applies platform limits to checkout Functions.
Published-rule limits
| Plan | Cart Marshal published-rule limit |
|---|---|
| Free | 1 |
| Core | 5 |
| Growth | 25 |
| Pro | No Cart Marshal-imposed cap |
Draft, unpublished, and archived rules do not count toward the published-rule limit. Pro removes Cart Marshal's app-level cap, but Shopify platform limits, Function limits, and store capabilities still apply.
Shopify platform limits
Shopify also limits the number of active checkout Functions in your store:
- Discount rules: up to 25 active Shopify Function-backed discounts.
- Payment rules: up to 25 active payment customizations.
- Delivery rules: up to 25 active delivery customizations.
- Restriction rules: up to 25 active checkout validations.
- Gift with Purchase: one active auto-add gift rule at a time.
Feature details
- You can keep multiple Gift with Purchase drafts, with one auto-add gift rule published at a time.
- Configure money-based thresholds in your store currency. Cart Marshal converts them to the checkout currency before comparison. Quantity and percentage values do not need currency conversion.
- Scripts analyzer is available on Pro for stores migrating from legacy Shopify Scripts. Paste your Script to review guidance; the analyzer does not read Scripts from Shopify, create rules, or publish replacements.
- Delivery Reorder keeps the cheapest delivery option first/default, then applies the configured order after it.
- Add the payment method names shown by your store in Settings before selecting them in a payment rule.
- Customer Requirements is no longer available for new rules. Existing rules remain supported. For new customer-specific behavior, use Order Restrictions, Quantity Restrictions, or Product Restrictions with customer targeting.
- B2B targeting depends on Shopify B2B context being available when a rule targets B2B / Company customers.
